Corporate Vision Founder’s Philosophy
Corporate Vision
- Technology Leadership
- Our company has adopted technological development as one of the most important guidelines of its management since its foundation. It aims to make great strides with the development and the accumulation of new technologies as its driving force.
- The Art of Manufacturing
- We aim to be the most excellent manufacturing company in the world by concentrating our wisdom and ideas towards the manufacturing site where profits are generated for the enterprise.
- Long Term Vision
- We aim for unlimited progress, while retaining enthusiasm for sustained creation and development in the field of electronics, which is advancing at a very quick pace.
- Global Outlook
- We promote business by meeting globally diversifying needs, while bearing in mind coexistence and coprosperity in the international society as an international corporation.
- Responsibility to Individual
- Society and enterprises are comprised of groups of people that cannot coexist without good human relations. We will promote business through management plans based on a people-friendly approach.
The Shinko Group has been developing and producing superior products to become a business partner
trusted by customers all over the world. Electronic equipment and semiconductor technologies are
continuing to progress rapidly and we are always expected to meet such demands.
By practicing the corporate vision, we strive to work in harmony with all stakeholders including customers,
business partners, shareholders, the local community and employees. Our aim is to enrich the lives of
people all over the world and contribute to the development of society through manufacturing.
Founder’s Philosophy
Our founder, Takekio Mitsunobu(1914~1992), promoted business for almost half a century and had a dream of " developing Shinko as a total manufacturer of the semiconductor package". The things he had continuously valued from its founding were manufacturing better products as a result of always being at the manufacturing site, nurturing talent, efficient resource utilization, and support of the local community. We aim for "infinite growth" and developing excellent manufacturing sites by basing all of our employee's efforts on our founding philosophy.
Economizing
The spirit of economizing embodies the principles that we follow in corporate business activities such as investing wisely in necessities and minimizing waste. We strive to use limited resources effectively by developing a wide and flexible vision, and racking our brains.
This wooden building was relocated to Kurita when the first plant was constructed in 1957. Originally it was used as a silk reeling factory before becoming the Welfare Facilities at the Fujitsu Suzaka plant. Mr. Mitsunobu took over it from Fujitsu and he reassembled it at the Kurita Plant. The second floor had an executive room and a drawing room. Even after Mr. Mitsunobu became the chairman of the board, he kept using this building saying this was sufficient. Although he invested in manufacturing, he never spent money for such things as remodeling rooms which never contribute directly to company business.
Innovation by manufacturing site
We believe the basis of our business and the solution to all problems are at the manufacturing site. Each individual fills a leading role, works spontaneously and improves things continuously in order for the manufacturing site to innovate as the source of the profits.
“Go to the site and find the problems. After finding them, never leave until you determine the cause.”
“Dreams in one hand, and a soroban * in the other.”
“Just as having dreams is important in our life, having dreams, great ambitions and high aims in business
is also important. However, we must have a soroban because dreams without realistic funding will never
come true.”
*Soroban is a traditional Japanese calculator. It also signifies the calculation of profit and loss.
“Great ambitions and dreams are absolutely necessary for training the young workers. I think managers need to have dreams so they can cultivate their insight. We can develop strategies based on the interpretations of those dreams such as ‘Keep developing technologies on our own. It might produce something new.’ So I think we should not work randomly, but have a dream.”
Responsibility to Individual
We strive to live in harmony with the local community and environment, use resources wisely, and
improve each employee's well being by working and caring for each other.
We encourage responsibility for all individuals, the use of limited natural resources and the global
environment while remembering our appreciation.
In 1990, two years prior to when Mr. Mitsunobu's life of 78 years came to a close, he established the Hoku-Shin Scholarship Foundation by donating 300,000 Shinko shares from his retirement payment. He believed that each person was an asset to a company and to the society in the future, so the education of a person would continue to get more important. This foundation has been offering scholarships to students of science, engineering and medicine every year.
